Coping With Medical Problems: Whether it’s
regarding adjustment to a chronic illness, coping with
pain from an injury, or rehabilitation, Dr. Warren
works closely with patients who have medical problems.
He teaches techniques ranging from relaxation training
to problem solving. Dr. Warren has found that
short-term counseling interventions and adjunctive
medication are often helpful
when dealing with all types of medical problems. |
 |
Pre-surgical Evaluations:
Surgeons often refer their patients for psychological
evaluation before initial or recurrent surgeries.
Using standardized psychological techniques, Dr.
Warren works to identify patient characteristics that
may enhance or impair recovery from surgery, and then
addresses these in treatment. |

Independent Medical (Psychological)
Evaluations:
IMEs are most often conducted at the request of some
third party, such as an insurance carrier or employer.
using standardized medical and psychological
techniques Dr. Warren determines if there is a medical
or mental disorder present, explores its relationship
to life events (job, injury, etc.,) and makes
recommendations for appropriate treatment. He provides
record reviews and second opinion consultation for
patients who have not responded as expected to
treatment.

Most fees for Medical Psychology Services are paid
by a third party (Workers Compensation or the
employer). In the event that patients are
responsible for their own fees, Dr. Warren follows a
fee-for-service policy. Patients pay for each visit
at the time of treatment. As a courtesy, the office
will file for any available insurance reimbursement
and direct any receipts directly to the patient.
