Short-term
Interventions: Dr. Warren’s theoretical orientation to
psychotherapy is cognitive-behavioral (CB) and psychoeducational (PE). Both CB and PE therapies focus
on thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Dr. Warren
concentrates on teaching patients valuable skills such
as new coping strategies, and how to recognize
unhealthy patterns. |

Men’s
Issues: Many men’s issues are “people issues.” But
guys have their own unique perspectives and problems
that are quite different from women’s. Each quarter
Dr. Warren accepts one or two male clients who want to
work, long term, on “men’s issues.” |
 |
Sex Offender Relapse Prevention: Dr.
Warren works with men in group settings to
maintain their process of “no sexual victimization.” Based
around cognitive-behavioral (CB) and psychoeducational
(PE) techniques, the ongoing goal is to prevent any
relapse of sexually inappropriate behaviors. |
 |
Psychological Testing: Intelligence, achievement,
personality, and psychosexual testing are helpful, often
critical tools
in psychological treatment. Patients and
their other healthcare providers benefit from the
objective findings of these tests. |
 |
Neuropsychological Testing: Neuropsychological testing
provides important information about brain-behavior
functioning such as memory, problem solving, and learning.
Dr. Warren’s specialized medical training provides him
with additional skills in the diagnosis of brain injury
and impairment. |
 |
Second Opinions: Dr. Warren welcomes patients for
evaluation and treatment planning when they have been in
treatment for a while but aren’t improving as expected.
These referrals often come from other treatment providers
themselves, as well as directly from patients and their
families. |
 |
Medication Management: As both an experienced psychologist
and a physician assistant, Dr. Warren helps
patients and their primary care providers in selecting,
monitoring, and adjusting their psychoactive medications. |
